Schooling, Anxiety and Children

Nothing rings truer than words that expound on a real life experience:
“…the anxiety children feel at constantly being tested, their fear of failure, punishment, and disgrace, severely reduces their ability both to perceive and to remember, and drives them away from the material being studied into strategies for fooling teachers into thinking they know what they really don’t know.”

Makes me wonder how much anxiety I’ve created in my own children with tests and expectations I set for them. I think it was R. Neibuhr who said that anxiety was the root of sin.
Anyway, Glad to find you on the web. Looks like you are doing well. I’d love to catch up some time.
