The One You Feed

An old Cherokee is teaching his grandson about life. “A fight is going on inside me,” he said to the boy.
“It is a terrible fight and it is between two wolves. One is evil – he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, inferiority, lies, false pride, superiority, and ego.” He continued, “The other is good – he is joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth, compassion, and faith. The same fight is going on inside you – and inside every other person, too.”
The grandson thought about it for a minute and then asked his grandfather, “Which wolf will win?”
The old Cherokee simply replied, “The one you feed.”

In church today we did a Bible study that showed us that humans are all basically filled with sin and evil, BUT that if we die to self and ask the Holy Spirit to guide us we can then have the goodness and peace that can’t come without Him. It was an interested little study. It actually fit kind of hand in had with this lesson because we talked about the need to daily decide to die to self and ask the Holy Spirit to fill us. So we must not feed the evil wolf and instead choose God daily to make us into the good wolf
Great, shared it right away with my youngest son.
