General Principles For Eating
July 23, 2009 | Filed Under Small Talk
I’ve dedicated the rest of my life to the fine art of being as fully human as possible. This year I’m focusing on the body since our body is perhaps our greatest gift, and the foundation of our existence. I think anyone who is looking to get their priorities straight will place a lot of value in taking care of their bodies.
As I’ve been exploring the body, I’ve discovered some things that I thought I’d share on this blog in case anyone else could benefit. The more I learn the more amazed I am at how much poison we literally put into our bodies simply because our food supply is based around “cheap” and “convenient”. It’s based around poison because unbridled capitalistic impulses drive corporate food companies to maximize profits while keeping food costs low. The result: we eat lots of empty calories because the driving force of our society, rather than being “quality”, is “more” and “cheaper”.
Time to make the decision to treat our bodies with more respect than “cheap” and “convenient” – I for one am willing to spend a little bit more on food to give my body exactly what it needs.
As time goes on, I’m going to flesh out this Eating Guide and try to make it as easy to use as possible. If you have any suggestions for what I can add, please do!
